It has been a lot of fun to have my new book, Foundational Skills of Writing: A Brain-Based Guide to Strengthen Executive Functions, Language, and Other Cornerstones for Writers out in the world. This book is available for purchase at Corwin Press, and also on Amazon. If you or anyone you know is interested in a book club, I’d be happy to support that effort, both in terms of providing discount codes and making guest appearances. Classes continue at The Writing Clinic, both in person and on Zoom. Students continue to love writing graphic novels, historical fiction, and fan fiction, all done in conjunction with building critical writing skills. Congratulations to some of the young people I support for winning regional Scholastic Gold Key recognitions! For those of you who are local to Farmington, CT, I am teaming up with The Collaborative Education Center to provide a TED Talk and STEM experience from July 20- July 23. Registration is available here. Additionally, I am offering a graphic novel summer program through Avon Parks and Recreation during the week of June 29. These will be engaging writing experiences for students who love to write, as well as for students who could use a little extra support. Finally, it feels great to complete college essays during the summer. If you know any high school juniors, please share my contact with them.
